Letter to possible members of the Proposed Langeleben
Reunion
Branch April 1993
Further to a most successful
reunion at Langeleben last year(26 - 28 June1992), a meeting was
held to discuss the forming of a Langeleben Reunion Association.
In order to get things under way a committee was formed. After
lengthy discussions numerous options were arrived at, the best are now put
forward for your views:--
1. Biennial reunion in Königslutter to
coincide with the weekend of the Schutzenfest, (commencing in
1994). Plus UK reunion in the other year.
2.
Annual reunion in UK at a venue to be
decided.
3. Annual reunion in Königslutter to
coincide with the Schutzenfest.
4. Any other
suggestion.......................................................................
Please inform the Secretary which one of the options you prefer,
when you return your membership application.
The committee discussed the possibility of
affiliation to the Royal Signals Association (RSA) and decided
to seek affiliation if we get enough of you interested in
forming a reunion association. If we are granted affiliation we
will be required to function within the rules of the RSA.
You have already shown interest and we would like you to become a member
of the "Langeleben Reunion Association". As with all worthwhile ventures it is impossible to function without
funds. The committee feels that a one off payment Life
Membership fee of £5:00, payable on application, is a reasonable
amount. It may be necessary to have an annual subscription to
cover ongoing costs, but this will be decided later.
It is intended to invite Maj Gen Baldwin to be President..
If you have any queries please feel free to contact any member of the
committee.
Please complete the attached Membership Application and return
it to "The Secretary" with your cheque for
£5:00 made payable to "LANGELEBEN REUNION".
Terry Wright, Secretary.
